What is forensic meteorology?
Forensic meteorology is the reconstruction of past weather conditions for a specific location, date, and question. It is often used in claims, legal matters, property disputes, incident review, and historical weather research.
Can you determine wind speeds at my property?
Often, EKAS can estimate or evaluate site-specific wind conditions using nearby observations, radar/satellite, official storm products, GIS context, and known limitations. Exact property-level values depend on available data.
Can you determine if hail occurred at my property?
EKAS can evaluate whether hail was meteorologically plausible or likely near a site using radar, storm reports, warning products, observations, and storm timing. A roof expert may still be needed to determine physical damage causation.
Do you provide expert witness testimony?
Testimony may be available by separate agreement, retainer, schedule review, scope review, and preparation time. Reports and testimony are not outcome-contingent.
Can drone imagery replace a roof inspection?
No. Drone imagery is powerful visual documentation, but it is not a structural engineering report, roof certification, moisture determination, or damage-causation opinion unless paired with the proper qualified professional scope.
How long does a report take?
Timing depends on the scope, date range, data availability, number of locations, graphics, urgency, and whether aerial work is included. Rush projects may be possible when scheduling allows.
What should I send for a case review?
Property address, date/time of loss, claim/case number, issue type, photos/videos, inspection reports, deadlines, known weather event, and the exact question you need answered.
Do you work with real estate investors?
Yes. EKAS can prepare climate risk assessments, weather exposure summaries, aerial property context, and site documentation for buyers, owners, property managers, and investors.
